Early morning light dappled the ground, filtered through the leafy green canopy overhead. It created an interesting forray of greens and golds that were shadowed by the dark browns and blacks of the roots and shadows underfoot. Occassionally the leafy kaleidescope of greens would be broken up by the flowers but for the most part the forest was home to trees, many of which looked like they had been around for decades if not centuries. Rumour had it that there was a spirit who lived in Solfalin Forest, guardian to one of the ancient willows who would aide a traveller on their quest. Skeptical on her belief but willing to atleast explore the option, Riona had set out in the early morning to explore the Forest with the hopes that she wouldn't run into anyone too unsavoury. As it stood she had grabbed a few knives, although her abilities were quite rusty having had no use for the damn blades for atleast a few years. She just hoped her knowledge would atleast serve her correct if she did run into anything big, bad and ugly. Her hopes were that if she did run into anyone they would be males, men she could deal with it was the other gender that sometimes posed a problem. Girls were most definitely not as pliable to her will as men were, not that she minded the company of other women they just didn't hold any attraction to the succubus. Then again the men of her kind also didn't really attract her, in the several centuries of life she had become to grow rather picky. Shaking off such thoughts she proceeded forward, being careful to walk along a path that damaged the least amount of foliage underfoot. The hardened soles of the doe-skin boots would do little damage but there was little point in angering any forest spirits that could be potential allies. Unlike most demon-kind she harboured little ill-will towards those who wanted to aide others such as the spirits and the light mages, actually she had met some very upstanding characters in both. Their constant need to help and aide baffled her at times but she could see the pleasure in doing a good deed, after all she had helped other people. Sometimes even if she didn't gain from it, although succubi were inherently selfish and self-centered and it would be a stretch to say that Riona was an exception. She was dictated by a moral compass that went off kilter more often than not.

Breathing in deeply she stared up at the ancient trees, a smile quirking her full lips as she moved through the forest. Although one could easily get lost in such a place there was something inherently relaxing about being surrounded by the peace and quiet. She certainly could never live in such a place, it was so far removed from her usual environment and the likelihood of her finding her next "meal" so to speak would be quite slim, but she could see the draw for a certain subset of people. Making a mental note to explore further at a later time she moved forward with a purpose, not quite sure what tree she was looking for but sending out a silent prayer of hope that she would find the spirit rumoured to live and guard the Solfalin Forest. Brushing a blonde strand of hair behind her ear she twitched her tail, letting it curl up along her lower back and under the loose fitting cloak. She was dressed for travel, a simple dark blue belted tunic and black tights, somewhat worn in for comfort fufilled the requirements. They had been modified to adjust for her wings and tail whichw ere both hidden by the cloak, but they did well for travel and were fairly common allowing her to blend in as she needed. The horns were one of the most visible features that gave away her demonesque nature, their black colour standing out against the golden crown of hair that the succubus had. However, as manipulative and self centered as she could be she wasn't like some of her fellow demon counterparts, and an item of power would go a long way in aiding her self-interest of safety. She just hoped that the rumoured spirit wouldn't disregard her.

Post  Willowbrook Thu Mar 10, 2011 3:50 am

Willowbrook had spent the early hours of the morning wandering around the outskirts of the forest, enjoying the fresh sunlight as it rose into the sky and streamed down to the forest floor through the leaves. As he scent of green and dewdrops filled her nose, she smiled. Mornings in the forest were always so wondrous. She took a deep breath and sighed, digging her bare feet into the dirt for a moment and relishing the feeling of damp earth on her soles. Brushing some of her long golden colored hair out of her face, she resumed her walk through the trees, bidding each a good morning as she passed by. Suddenly, the sound of footsteps against the earth caught her ear, and she darted behind a large oak tree, peering out from behind it to see what it could be.

Upon seeing what was making the noise, her eyes widened. A cloaked figure was making her way through the woods. Hm... she could see the horns on her head in the speckled sunlight that came through the canopy. So a demon, succubus, if her senses were working properly, which she was sure they were. The cloak was obviously covering her wings and tail.

Quietly, she watched the succubus as she moved through the forest, following her from a distance. She wasn't sure what her purpose here was, but the demon hadn't made any attempts to destroy anything, in fact it seemed as though she was going out of her way to avoid damaging the foliage, she ignored her for the most part. But now... she was getting closer to the center of the forest, and her tree. Hm... what could she be doing here? Succubi didn't live in her forest since it was not an ideal location for them to find their prey, and there was no reason she could think of that would draw one of them away from the village and into the forest like this. She didn't get many visitors in this part of the woods, usually it was Lucian who came by, or one of the more curious humans who wandered out too far.

Ah, the woman was coming closer to her tree. Closing her eyes, she allowed the familiar tugging sensation of her tree's voice to wrap around her. With a small creaking sound, she found herself back in her tree, the succubus only a few yards away. Cautiously, she separated herself from the trunk of her tree, the long curtain-like strands of leaves hiding her from the succubus' view for the moment.

Well, the woman hadn't harmed her forest, so she wasn't a threat... for now. Appearances could be deceiving, but to Willowbrook actions spoke volumes, and after seeing how careful the demon was not to harm the forest, she was sure she meant no harm. Stepping out from behind the green covering of her tree's leaves, she smiled slightly. "Good Morning."

Breathing in deeply she tilted her head back and stared at the canopy of trees, enjoying the interplay of sunlight as it dappled through trees. It was still relatively cool but she was happy that she had set out so early to seek the spirit out. She wasn't certain if the spirit would be at her tree, knowing that spirits could move away from their "home" although she also knew that the spirit would have to return at some point and the succubus wasn't above waiting, atleast until the day grew late. It was a nice enough day to spend outside and it was certainly a nice change of scenary, very different from the inn or town where there was a greater abundance of people. She closed her eyes as she moved forward, shifting her weight lightly to avoid crushing a new growth of flowers, her fingers reaching out to brush along the tree bark. The nose ruffling smells of dew and greenery, intermingled with more woodsier scents was nice. Combined with the tactile sensation of the rough bark giving way to soft moss under her fingertips and the crush of dead foliage under foot and it was somewhat heady to a creature that delighted in sensations that went beyond site and sound.

Her tail twitched out to stroke along a few of the leaves, the skin on her tail oddly sensitive. She was also quite careful to not harm anything, knowing her tail wasn't as dexterous or as careful as her finger tips. As she travelled deeper into the forest she opened her eyes and stared up at the older trees. There was a feeling of age and wisdom to this part of the wood. The air feeling a little heavier and the light not travelling as deeply in through the canopy over head. Then again some of the trees were truly ancient, atleast as old if not older than the succubus who could still recall the fun she'd had when the Romans had built their empire. True she had been young at that point but it wasn't like she was a young duck. She didn't realize she was being followed by the Spirit that she actually sought, her actions belying a side of the demon that she seldom exposed, a softer nature.

As Willowbrook returned to her tree and it creaked she turned her attention towards the tree curiously, studying it carefully as she approached cautiously. Despite the outward relaxation she was still ready for something if it were to jump out at her. The knowledge that she wasn't the biggest, baddest thing in the woods was humbling and kept the succubus on high alert even as she let herself relax. She wasn't as in tune to the forest as the Spirit was but she was sensitive to changes around her, a sensitivity which she had been trying to hone with each year of her life as in times of trouble a smart and alert succubus was a live succubus. A stupid, oblivious one was often dead. Of course appearances could be decieving, she had used her looks and the fact that people, especially men often underestimated her, to her advantage before.

Shading her eyes from the sun she glanced up at the tree when she heard a voice, her lips quirking into a friendly open smile. It was somewhat of a facade, the succubus was seldom as open and friendly as she appeared to be. However, her walk through the forest had settled the usual weary predator that lurked within the demon, allowing her to relax. She was fairly content for the time being and certainly curious about the spirit. Her eyes flicked over the tree before she focused on Willowbrook and inclined her head politely
"Good morning" she greeted cheerily, rocking back on her heels as she looked around. "Would you be Willowbrook?" she inquired politely, not trying to use magic or charm, just polite conversation.

Willowbrook nodded her head slightly. "Yes, that would be me." She gazed at this girl who had obviously come into this forest looking for her. She had watched the woman go through her forest, reaching out and occasionally touching the trees, gazing around. It was clear that she was not here to cause harm, so Willowbrook allowed herself to relax slightly. The fact that the demon had made it through the forest without encountering some of its more poisonous plants and aggressive predators was a lucky break, and most likely due to the early hour. Many beings here would not wake for another hour or so.

She took another step forward, still staying within the reach of the leaves of her tree. Gently, she ran her hands across the green leaves, smiling as the tendrils gently tugged at her fingers and wound around her arm. She let one of the many vies connected to her body wrap around one of the branches of the willow, staying in constant contact with the wood to gather some strength. She had spent quite a bit of time away from her tree this morning and she needed a bit of a... recharge, if you would. Also it grounded her to where she was as she took a deep breath and let her awareness spread out to the rest of the forest for a quick moment, cheeking to see what the inhabitants were up to. Ah... nearby a family of badgers was waking up to start their day. She could sense the little animals as they stirred in their burrow. The more dangerous predators would not venture here, but it never hurt to double check. After all, sometimes the prospect of a newcomer in the forest awakened their interest. The strangling vines were coming around, but they were on the other side of the forest.. and oh, it seemed that the swamp pit had claimed another victim, this one trying to cut down a young rowan sapling. Her lips tightened with anger for a moment, but relaxed. It was over and the tree was safe now. When wood was needed, some of the older trees would give their branches and excess twigs. Young trees were off limits, and surely the villagers knew this by now. This woodcutter must have been a foreigner or incredibly stupid. Either way, she had no sympathy. He attempted to take a life, and instead his life was forfeit.

Satisfied with the level of activity the woods were producing, she looked back to the succubus and tilted her head curiously. There were not many reasons for one of her kind to come here, and she was eager to find out the reason for this visit. The succubus had not used any of her magic to try and put her at ease or control her, so she figured this could turn out to be a nice conversation. The woman seemed to be comfortable here and relaxing, although she was sure her senses were still at alert. Smart of her. There were things in this forest that didn't care who you were, all they craved was destruction, and a moment of inattention could get you killed. Taking a deep breath, she smiled as the scent of flowers reached her nostrils. The morning glories were opening up it seemed. Returning her full attention to the succubus before her, she straightened and dropped her hand from where it was intertwined with the leaves from her tree. "What brings you to my forest?"

Riona relaxed as she got conformation that this was in fact the Spirit she had been searching for and not a different spirit. Not that she would have minded the company of another spirit, but the succubus had always been the kind that liked to get things done efficiently. And while the forest was a relaxing place she also knew of the dangers it could hold, the fact that some of its more dangerous inhabitants hadn't roused yet was in her books, a good thing. It was a lucky break that she hadn't encountered anything more harmful than a squirrel, which she had watched scurry through the tree growth overhead for a few moments before moving onward. Unlike some demons she actually liked the early morning and even after a long, late night, she was known to wake up rather early. Not that she hung around long after waking, it truly wasn't really her style.

Her eyes flicked up watching the Spirit as she reached out to the leaves, her eyes following the movement of the tendrils of vinery as they tugged at her fingers and wound around her arm. It was interesting to the demon who had never had such a relationship with anything to see the forest so very alive. Sure she relied on "victims" so to speak for sustenance and survival, and she ultimately would only feed off the willing, but she had never held a symbiotic relationship that was quite as close as Willowbrook had to her tree. She remained quiet as the spirit checked on what was going on in the forest, her eyes remaining focused on the Spirit as she watched the much taller woman’s facial expressions. Reading anger and a lack of sympathy over some harm or fowl she could only imagine. She knew that it hadn't been her caught afoul, at least not this time so she worried little over the remote expression of anger that faded nearly as quickly as it had appeared. It made her very glad that she had taken extra precaution that morning, not that she had any interest in harming the forest anyway. It wasn't in her nature to be destructive, at least when it came to innocent plant and animal life. If she were to hunt it would be for sustenance and certainly not just her own, seeing as she could survive quite well off a flavour of sustenance that didn't come from such a setting. She never could really understand why some people would do such harm when they had nothing truly to gain from it except the creation of an enemy. And she had a feeling that this Spirit could be a formidable enemy and someone she wasn't like to double cross at any point in her lifetime.

Once the Spirit's attention returned to her she cast a smile and tilted her head in a slight inclination, and show of respect. She wasn't out to kiss up to the Spirit and she certainly wouldn't grovel but she had learned a slight show of deference when one was out of their own territory and in another, went a long way in establishing a better relationship from the start.
"My names Riona...Riona Carter...I heard you may be able to help me if you were so inclined" she admitted, dropping the preamble and getting straight to the heart of the matter. Riona could talk circles and play games when she felt like it, but she doubted the Spirit would be amiable to such advances and it just didn't sit well with the succubus to play such games, not when she truly had an interest in the aid of forest spirit.

Her attention drifted to the side watching the flutter of activity as a few birds skirted in and out of the trees in a race of feathers, their colours luminescent against the darker browns and greens that were so common in the deep woods.
"I heard you may know of an object....I seek something that can aide me in maintaining my own safety. You see I am relatively new to these parts of the woods and I know that I am not the biggest, baddest predator out there...something that would let me sense the intentions of those I encounter would go a long way" she admitted cautiously. She had heard of such an object, rumoured to be a ring, which suited her just fine. Although the name had evaded her when she had gone on a literary search. Not one to spend large quantities of times running through books she had finally found who she could approach and with the brash, bold and somewhat independent nature she was known for had actively sought her out. It was just pure coincidence and perhaps a good dose of luck that the spirit she sought had been the first she'd encountered.

Right to the point. Willowbrook smiled. This succubus... Riona, had just earned a bit more of her respect. "An object which will help you stay safe... specifically to sense another's intentions.. Yes, I know of what you speak." One of her vines came down and drew a picture in the dirt, a ring with several small gemstones on the side and an inscription on its side. "It is called the Ring of Phelim. Legend has it that it was created by the god Phelim, the one who watches over honorable thieves and assassins, himself." The vine ceased its drawing and left the completed image in the dirt for Riona to look at.

She nodded her head once. "This is what it looks like. The legends say it it hidden somewhere in my forest." Her eyes showed amusement. "Many have tried to find it for some reason or another, but no one has succeeded." She looked the other up an down, sizing her up. Since she had gotten here, she had not once disrespected the forest, nor had she used her magic upon Willowbrook. Maybe she would do well with it. Her reasons for wanting it were far more honorable than some of the ring's previous seekers. Yes, she decided, the ring would suit Riona nicely.

There is a lycan by the name of Lucian. He knows where the ring is." She did as well, but it was located on the outreaches of her forest on the other side farthest from the village. She did not venture out that way often because it pulled horribly on her bond with her tree. She was able to go to parts of the town and everywhere in this forest easily, but if she got too far from her tree, she would die. Yes, Lucian could help. "He comes by here often, but can be found around the wolf den if you look around. He knows the way to where the ring is lying. Go find him and tell him I told you to ask for his help."

Her vines wrapped around her body as she spoke, covering her arms. The forest had woken as she spoke, and the beasts that roamed were up and about. Riona would have to fight something on her way out unless she was lucky again, or... well, she didn't want the one person she had decided was worthy of the ring to get injured on her way out. She nodded to herself. "Lucian will be around here somewhere, as always. Here." One of her vines detached itself from her and coiled into a necklace. "This is a token. It will allow you to travel through here unhindered. The animals will recognize the vine and steer clear of you. It will also tell Lucian that your claim is valid." She held it out to the other woman.

Her toes dug into the soft earth beneath her feet, feeling the vibrations through the dirt, telling her where everything on her land was at the moment. Ah, Lucian was around, close to the dens. Good, Riona would meet him soon. She focused on the succubus again. "Go now. I am tired and wish to rest." She swept the dirt where her vine had drawn the ring with her foot, destroying the drawing and headed back towards her tree, stepping towards it. Her body seemed to melt into the bark, and she turned, leaving only her face visible. "Have a good day Riona Carter." With that, her face disappeared and the old willow tree was silent.

Riona returned the smile and listened intently her eyes trailing down to the ground when one of the vines began to draw a picture of the ring. She studied it, having never found a sketch of the object only a description and definitely not a description as in depth as Willowbrook gave. It was a pretty object, certainly not fancy which suited the succubus who's tastes ran more towards the plain but classy end of jewelery rather than the glitz and glamour favoured by some of her other demonic counterparts. A soft chuckle escaped her lips at the legend of the ring, figuring that if the ring had been made for honourable thieves and assassins then it would oddly be fitting for the succubus who had spent quite a bit of her time in both trades, but had a rather weird moral code when it came to both professions. What money she made from either contract often went to benefit someone other than herself unless the money was needed to further her own gains. Inherently a little selfish, Riona couldn't exactly be called "good" by any stretch but she was more moral than some.

Her eyes trailed up from the drawing as Willowbrook continued to speak, not disrupting her and not having any burning questions since the Spirit was quite clear. At the mention of a lycan her eyes sharpened with interest, having expected the quest to be one that would have to be set out on her lonesome. The company of a man, even short term was certainly welcome although it would definitely throw a wrench in her line of good behaviourif he happened to be particularly....interesting. Mentally shaking off such thoughts she nodded her head in understanding, her eyes flicking back to the drawing as she made a mental image of the ring since it wasn't like she could make a sketch of it. She hadn't heard of the Lucian fellow before, but then again she was also quite new to the town and surrounding area and had yet to meet many of the inhabitants except the darling human who had come into the inn the night before. It had been a nice....house warming so to speak, he'd been amendable and fairly good company although hadn't exactly been the sharpest tool in the shed. Laying aside the memories of card games and good wine she focused her attention back on Willowbrook, making a mental note to head towards the wolf den in search of the lycan that she spoke of.

She had the distinct impression that Willowbrook and the Lycan were either good friends or had some form of relationship and she was quite curious although she didn't ask, mostly because she didn't want to appear rude or prying. Not when the forest spirit had been such a great help. She plucked the token, a pretty necklace from the air once it was offered, carefully slipping it over her had and letting it nestle outside of her tunic so that it was clearly visible should any forest creature approach. It would also be visible by the Lycan, the thought of moving unhindered suited the succubus who hadn't exactly been thrilled with the idea of fighting her way out of the forest. Although she would have if she needed to, she had a fairly healthy amount of self interest in keeping herself alive.
"Thank you Willowbrook...for all your help....you have a good day as well" she stated politely as she smiled up at the tree that the spirit had dissappeared into. With a small nod and a rub of her fingers over the necklace she turned and headed in the direction of the wolf-den, having looked over a map before starting out that morning just so that she was prepared. It appeared as if her quest had started off on a good note, one that the succubus dearly hoped would continue.

A quest for the unknown... Empty Re: A quest for the unknown...

Post  Lucian 'The Wolf' Harth Thu Mar 10, 2011 6:06 pm

Lucian's mind had been focused on his fellow lycans for the past several days. The full moon was quickly approaching and he was the only one of their kind within the society able to control himself. He worried for the safety of his people. If any more humans were slaughtered at the hands of an out of control young lycan the villagers wouldn't hesitate to hunt them down, armed with silver blades to kill his kind. Lucian didn't consider himself to be leader of the lycans here in The Society, but he was definitely the eldest and most experienced. Lucian came to The Society to settle down and live in peace, he had even helped the first settlers build the town. The commoners all knew Lucian wasn't a lycan to be feared, but he could only protect his kin for so long. He wouldn't be able to rest on the night of the full moon, it would take all his skills to make sure every lycan kept a safe distance from the village.

The Lycan sighed as he leaned back against the tree he was lying in. The night before had been spent training the other lycans, trying to get them to mentally overcome their weaknesses to the moon. It was an exhausting task, and many of the young lycans grew frustrated very quickly with the long exercises Lucian would put them through. He had a long way to go before he could rest easy during a full moon. His leg dangled lazily from the limb he was perched on. Suddenly, something interrupted the lycan's rest. There was something in the forest that didn't call this place home. His acute hearing picked up far off footsteps, and his heightened sense of smell told him that the visitor was a demon. Lucian quickly rose to his feet, resting a hand against the bark of the tree as he balanced himself. He focused his senses in the direction of the sound and smell, his eyes trying hard to focus onto the source of the disturbance. The density of the trees made it impossible to spot the demon, and Lucian was forced to travel closer. He checked his belt, making sure that his daggers were tightly fastened to his belt, and jumped from the tree he had been resting onto the limbs of a neighboring tree. He made sure his footing was secure, once again trying to visually locate the demon before jumping to another tree. He repeated the process until he finally caught sight of the demon.

Much to his surprise, the demon that he had sensed was a Succubus. The Lycan was glad that her senses weren't as in tune as his, and that she hadn't noticed his presence yet. Lucian knew that the Succubi had powerful magics that were used to bend a male of any race to their will. Upon looking her over, he noticed that not only was she armed, but she was also wearing a necklace made from the branches of Willowbrook's tree. He hadn't sensed any changes within the forest, so it wasn't possible that the Spirit Guardian had been harmed in any way. Still, Lucian didn't live to be four thousand years old by trusting everything he saw. Lucian jumped from the tree to the ground, landing just behind the demon. Quickly, he drew one dagger from his belt and held it to the Succubus' throat.

"I'd choose my next few words very carefully if I were you, Succubus. Don't dare use your magics to try and get out of this one. At the first sign of arousal I feel towards you I won't hesitate to slit your throat. Now then, why are you near the Lycan Dens and how did you get that necklace?" Lucian had shut his eyes quickly, knowing that being male the demon wouldn't have any problem swaying his thoughts. So long as he didn't look over her body, and she spoke in a normal tone, he wouldn't need to worry.

As she moved through the forest she remained on high alert, her eyes flicking around the forest which was lightening with mid morning light. She certainly caught sight of many forest creatures, although they tended to steer clear of her presence and gave her no real trouble. The forest was definitely a place she wasn't too familiar with, a foreign environment that definitely had is charms but also its own inherent dangers. She was grateful to the forest spirit for providing her with a token of safe passage although it didn't stop her from stroking her fingers over the hilt of her knife every so often. Assuring herself of its presence as she moved towards the wolf den. It wasn't that she planned to use the knife, especially on someone who could potentially help her but she just wanted to reassure herself that she remained arm. There was something a little more empowering about keeping a weapon on her presence although when dealing with a lycan, her charms and inherent magic would serve as a better weapon than the curved blade. Especially since it wasn't silver but hardened iron.

Her shoulders tightened as she got closer to the wolf den, her eyes darting around carefully as she remained on high alert. The safe passage token was only as good as it was visible and who was to say that any of the lycans would heed the necklace anyway. Although her senses weren't as sharp as a lycans she certainly was used to following her intutition and as she drew closer to the den, or atleast where the map she had read stated the den would be she began to get a nervous feeling in the pit of her stomach. Twitching her tail lightly she moved forward, treading with care so as not to do any harried damage to the forest. Even though she had gained the aide of Willowbrook, it would do no good if the spirit revoked her passage and she had always been a little leery of angering a spirit in its territory even if it was far away. After all, if what she suspected was true, she was seeking out a Lycan who was either good friends or close with the Spirit Guardian. Angering Willowbrook would lend well into angering the Lycan, who she was sure was a formidable opponent and someone she would much rather have on her side.

The rustle of leaves over head had her turning to look upward her tail whipping around the knife tugging it out and slipping it into her hand although not quite fast enough as she was met with a weary Lycan and a dagger to her throat. She tilted her head back, her blue eyes flashing wearily as she swallowed hard feeling the metal uncomfortably close to her skin. She carefully slipped the dagger back where it belonged holding her hands up to show that she remained unarmed as her tail twitched back and forth slightly with agitation. If it was one thing Riona hated it was being on the losing end of a knife although she was hesitant to use any of her powers to get out of the situation. For some reason she doubted the lycan would take that very well. She remained quiet for a moment, fighting back the dry mouthed feeling as her eyes slid over him from head to toe, feeling the lust that always slid through her when faced with an attractive male. However she was old enough to not give into it and carefully banked some of the natural firey lust that was brought about by his very presence.

"Now darling do you greet every lass with a knife to the throat or am I just special?" she inquired her voice holding a slight purr of sass and sarcasm although she was being remarkably good. After a pause she breathed in deeply and softened her voice "Willowbrook sent me here to seek out a lycan by the name of Lucian...I'm assuming that may be you?" she inquired her voice still holding its natural purr but she was trying very hard not to use any of her powers on him. Her instinct was to use her powers on him and turn the situation around, but it was hard to do so when a man wouldn't even look at her and she hadn't set out that morning to seduce and manipulate anyone. Thus far she had gotten through the day in good faith and she had hoped to continue that way. Truth be told though it ruffled her feathers and hurt a little that he wouldn't even look at her.

Lucian opened his eyes and looked the demon over carefully. She hadn't hesitated in answering his questions, and knew not only Willowbrook's name but his own. Lucian took his blade from her throat and placed it back in it's sheath at his hip. He still didn't fully trust her, but he believed that she wasn't lying. "Yes, I am Lucian. And to answer your question no I do not greet every woman with a knife, only the ones with horns." His eyes darted to the small blade she carried with her. He looked over it carefully, making sure it wasn't silver. Silver wasn't commonly used in making weapons, so one carrying a silver blade meant that they had slaying a lycan in mind. Much to his pleasure, it was forged with hardened steel. Whatever her task, she didn't plan on killing lycans.

"So Willowbrook sent you to find me did she? What business do you have that requires my assistance? I have more important things to worry about than the troubles of a Succubus." Lucian didn't normally help out wandering demons in the woods but if Willowbrook had sent her to find him that meant she saw something in this demon worth helping. It would be unwise to do anything to upset the Guardian of Solfalin forest, especially if one called the woods home. The Guardian did what she could to watch after the lycans, the least Lucian could do is help a demon with a quest.

Riona kept her eyes fixated on him but didn't try to use any of her powers on him, not while the blade was still held far to close to her neck for her liking. Her tail twitched agitatedly although she didn't try and go for her knife, having a distinct feeling that she'd be on the losing end of that battle before it even started. While he was contemplating her she studied him her eyes drifting from head to toe slowly and then back up again, studying and measuring him. Up close she could sense his power and get a rough feeling for his age as well, he certainly was no young pup so hopefully he would at least be reasonable. Lycans in her experience were a little volatile, and Lucian was living up to expectation. He certainly was cute though. When he pulled the knife from her neck she relaxed marginally her lips pulling into a saucy grin as she rocked back on her heels and looked at him fully "Well doesn't that make me feel special" she stated, sarcasm just dripping off her tone.

Her eyes followed his down to her belt where the knife lay, she had never actively sought out to kill a lycan. Nor had she ever been contracted to kill one, and a contract like that she would be more likely to refuse anyway. She had some good experiences with the species but they were a volatile bunch and in the physical department were far stronger than she ever imagined she could be. She had however won quite a few card games against some of the youngsters, some were smart but easy enough to distract. Shaking off such thoughts she focused on the question at hand.
"She said that you may be able to aid me in finding and locating the Ring of Phelim. She told me to ask for your help so here I am" she stated with a smile, a real one versus the one that had been a little more sarcastic the last time. She hadn't shirked away from him the minute the knife had gone away instead standing tall and remaining loosely relaxed but cautious.

Her eyes slid away from him momentarily considering their surroundings before turning her attention back to him.
"She never did tell me that you were cute though" she admitted flirtatiously, the fliration wasn't filled with its normal bite. She endeavoured to behave and she had the distinct feeling that this particular lycan would fight her every step of the way if she tried to feed from him. Since she liked her dinner warm and willing, he didn't really have anything to worry about. She wasn't above flirting and having a good time though, and Lucian was an attractive guy, even if he had held a knife to her neck.

Lucian knew of The Ring of Phelim, though he wasn't sure of it's exact location. He knew it could be found in the caves of Solfalin, but he wasn't sure which one and where. However, he did know that it would be on the finger of a dead man. It's last bearer had met a rather untimely end in the caves, the ring not being enough to save him. There were fowl beasts that called the caves home, and it was a very dangerous place. Willowbrook was right to have sent Riona looking for him, the succubus wouldn't be able to reach the ring on her own.

"Willowbrook was wise to have you seek me out. The Ring of Phelim's last bearer died seeking treasure from the caves. While the ring's power will reveal the location of enemies and their intents to you, that would be no help if you were surrounded and overpowered." Lucian stopped a moment, thinking the situation over. He didn't normally help demons, but if Willowbrook sent her that must mean the Forest Guardian saw something in her worth being rewarded. The caves were full of danger, but Lucian was confident he could overcome any enemies he may encounter in them. After all, he was a master of battle.

Lucian's thoughts were interrupted by Riona's compliment. Women have come onto him before, but it wasn't a common occurrence. His male intuition took over for a split second, where he almost returned the compliment, but he quickly reminded himself that she was a Succubus, and any man with a halfway decent face would have received the same kind words. "Now darling, do you tell every man what you think of his looks the moment you meet him or am I just lucky? Don't try to win me over, demon. Though you may be physically alluring I don't make a habit of associating with demons. I'll help you find the ring, but after that we go our separate ways. As I've said, I have more important things to do than help people wandering through the forest with their errands. Now then, what did you say your name was?" Riona was very attractive, even amongst members of her own race, but Lucian wasn't going to give in to flirtation so easily.

Riona listened to his explanation the flirtatious smile being replaced by a more serious look as she listened to him. She knew what the ring was capable of and she didn't seek it out as a means for protecting her from being overpowered or surrounded, since she knew it wouldn't help her in such a case. It would however prevent her from selecting someone who actually was out to harm her. She had no interest in trying to increase her gain via treasure hunting but she didn't want to make bad deals like she had in the past. And like any demon she had a very strong interest in her self, especially when being surrounded by those who could be as devious and manipulative as she was capable of being. Not that she liked that shining facet of her personality very much. She would utilize it, just like any soldier would use a weapon, however if she could get what she wanted in a different way than she would.

The serious contemplative look was replaced by a coquettish smile as she tilted her head her blue-green eyes flashing with delight as her tail twitched
"You think I'm attractive!" she exclaimed cheekily her eyes flicking over him as she considered his question. Did she call every man she met cute, well no, only the ones she thought were attractive. Was she afraid to complement a man who she deemed attractive? Well no, no self respecting succubus would have made it very far in life if they weren't bold sometimes. And flirtation came as easily as breathing to the blonde. She also realized that he was spinning her words back on her as she grinned and laughed softly as she rocked back on her heels. "Only the ones I think deserve it....you're different from the lycans I've met though. Most aren't bad in the looks department but...well not the sharpest tools in the shed...easily distracted" she murmmured thoughtfully as she cocked her head to the side and tucked a curl of blonde hair behind her ear. It was clearly not meant to be offensive, an observation cited in a thoughtful, curious tone as she considered him with a curious look.

Realizing she'd been infinitely rude she bowed her head a little her cheeks colouring faintly.
"Oh where are my manners, Riona Saleh Carter...but you can call me Riona or Ri...whatever suites you" she admitted with a smile. It retained its flirtatious air although was also a little bashful. Usually she didn't forget such niceties such as providing her name. Since she knew his name she had forgotten to introduce herself. Realizing he'd agreed to help her, her expression brightened visibly as she rocked back on her heels as she held out a hand to shake. "I'm sure you're help will be appreciated....I take it the token that Willowbrook gave me is only as good as the intentions of those who see it and...it probably wouldn't work in the caves" she admitted sincerely.

A quest for the unknown... Empty Re: A quest for the unknown...

Post  Lucian 'The Wolf' Harth Wed Mar 16, 2011 4:35 pm

Lucian was only half listening to Riona speak. He was more worried about choosing the best method to locate the ring quickly and with as little resistance as possible. He knew that the previous bearer had been seeking a treasure that was hidden in the caves, but had no idea just how deep into them the thief had gotten. All the caves in the area were abandoned gold and silver mines, and rumors had been circulating for years that chests of unclaimed precious stones were abandoned along with the mines themselves. Over the years however, the mines had become home to ogres, trolls, goblins, and lycans. All the lycans knew Lucian, so they wouldn't be a problem. All the other species that called the caves home would be the only real problem.

Lucian picked up from Riona's words that she had found most lycans to be attractive but dull. It wasn't that lycans lacked intelligence, it was simply that they were so out of control over their own powers their animalistic natures took over more than their human traits. Most lycans were scared to show themselves in public, afraid of what others would think of them and how they would react. Lucian had lived long enough to not only have full control over his abilities, but to realize that not much is different between humans and lycans. Despite the fact that Lucian himself was born with lycanthropy, he had lived amongst humans for many years of his long life.

"Don't be so naive that you judge a whole race of beings by the actions of a few. My younger brethren are often confused and scared of their own abilities, unsure what to think of themselves and terrified of what others would think of them. Creatures like you and I were born this way, you must consider how one would feel living their whole life as a human, suddenly transformed into something much different. It takes alot to cope with the change, and it takes even more time to learn to control it." Lucian looked down at Riona's hand when she offered it, but instead of shaking it he turned and began walking towards the caves.

" We'd best search as much as we can before the hour grows too late. The beasts that call the caves home are still sleeping, but will wake when evening approaches. Unfortunately Willowbrook's influence doesn't reach these creatures, so the safe passage token she has granted you will be of no use. It would be wise for you to stick close to me." Lucian stopped before the entrance to the caves. There were many entrances, but all the tunnels were linked together and surprisingly organized. If he had to guess, the previous bearer of the ring would have been heading towards the deepest reaches of the caves. All they could do was search each tunnel until they found his body. "By the way, what I said earlier still stands. Don't think that since we've been acquainted I'm any less wary of you, demon. If I feel your powers begin to take hold of me, I won't hesitate to end your life."

Riona frowned and dropped her hand slipping it into her pockets as her blue eyes narrowed. Even she wasn't that rude on one of her worst days although she figured perhaps he had found her comment about the lycans offensive. She hadn't meant it offensively, it was a mere observation, and admittedly her experience with lycans was minimal at best. Seldom did they come into the bar and she had never made a habit of going near their dens. They were volatile at best and she'd heard of many demons who hadn't made it out of such encounters. As she followed him towards the caves her fingers twitched along the hilt of her knife and she listened to him speak. His words confirmed her assumption that she had offended him and wanting to ease some of the tension she spoke up after he was done "I meant no offense Lucian, it was a mere observation that you are different from those I've met. I'm sure it takes a lot to cope with the change, and it’s an admirable feat I'm sure" she murmured calmly. She honestly hadn't meant any offense and found his abrupt, somewhat rude behaviour to be mildly offensive.

His comment about the beasts that called the caves home had her mind shifting to what lay ahead as she walked a step behind him towards the caves. She had heard about the beasts and despite his somewhat rude behaviour she was glad to have the lycan's help. He seemed strong, capable and was probably better with a knife than she was. He most certainly would be an asset if it came down to physical combat since that wasn't her expertise, although she wasn't afraid of throwing a few punches. Speed, flexibility and not being where he opponent thought she would be served her better in a fight than brute strength. She was a slight thing and had never made a habit of practicing hand to hand, not because she was against it, merely not having anyone to teach her. She also wasn't all that certain that her natural charisma would work on the creatures and with how prickly Lucian was her ego had taken a little bit of a blow. The succubus knew she was attractive, of that she was sure, and he had even offered her an off handed compliment although thinking back on it she wasn't sure he had meant it. None the less the cocky little vixen had been dealt a bit of a blow when he hadn't even exchanged the simple niceties of shaking hands or responding to her flirtation.

Kicked out of her self-pity by his comment about the necklace she glanced up at him raising a brow
"I figured as much, the caves house creatures that aren't native to the forest which I assume is Willowbrook’s domain" she drawled slowly. She made no effort to step closer, only a step behind him and not about to act like some ninny. She was a smart, capable young woman who wasn't about to shy away from the critters that went boo in the dark. Not that she minded the company, and she certainly was grateful for his assistance. Her eyes flicked over the entrance to the caves, her full lips pulling into a slight frown as she paused and glanced around her tail twitching lightly. As a thief it would have made the most sense for him to head as deep into the caves as he could, treasure was seldom in a place that was obvious and if the treasure that was rumoured to exist was still present then it would have to be deep or it would have been picked over long ago. Also with the likes of ogres and trolls, creatures known to horde, she could only assume a body would be well wihin the labyrinth of caves. Such a fact made her glad to have the company, even if it was a prickly lycan.

His comment about her using her powers on him had her rolling her eyes as she looked at him with mild annoyance
"Darling, you're definitely a fine piece of ass but I think I can control myself, you can cease colouring me by the same colour brush until you actually get to know me" she drawled, a bite of sarcasm lacing her tone before she stepped past him and walked into the cave. Her tail twitched lightly following the simple sway of her hips. If it wasn't for the fact that she wanted the ring and needed his assistance she might have let her powers out, just to play with him. However, she had long since learned to control the lust and pick who she wanted to feed on. And she wasn't about to sic herself on him just because she could, especially not when he could feed her to a troll. As much as she delighted in being bad sometimes, she was a decent person and had the best intention of working in good faith. His continued comments about her were actually a little hurtful since she'd already told him that she wouldn't go after him, atleast not intentionally. Not that she would let on that she found it hurtful, sarcasm and anger worked quite well in covering any of that vulnerability up. Outright flirtation just seemed to spook him, something she might consider later...after the whole cave debacle.

Post  Lucian 'The Wolf' Harth Wed Mar 16, 2011 11:41 pm

Lucian was somewhat surprised at how Riona was acting. Demons were normally self centered creatures that cared only for themselves and almost always had bad intentions. Yet somehow, this succubus had gained the trust of Willowbrook and even seemed to have been somewhat offended with how he was acting towards her. It wasn't like he was a cold person, he was simply playing it safe. It was a survival technique he had developed over years of dealing with untrustworthy people. He was even more surprised when she boldly entered the caves before him. He knew she was trying to prove a point, but it wasn't worth it if she got hurt. He quickly entered the cave after her.

"I admire your courage Riona, but you don't know your way around the caves as well as I do. It would be best if I were to lead the way." Lucian placed his hand on her shoulder gently as he walked past her, taking the lead. There was a lightly used torch lying on the ground. Taking a flint out of his pocket, he picked up the torch and scratched the flint against the cave wall, showering sparks onto the torch and lighting it. "Stay close. We don't want to get separated in case things take a turn for the worse. The creatures here aren't very intelligent, but their physical strength and numbers could be enough to overpower us if we are taken off guard."

Before long, the light of the torch was the only thing keeping them from being completely blind. Many times Lucian had to stop and regain his bearings to keep himself from getting turned around or wandering too close to a known troll cavern. So far the only creatures they were encountering were rats and bats, and it would be best to keep it that way. Lucian searched the walls of the cave for any clues that could possibly lead him to the location of the thief, but so far nothing was turning up. The lycan let out a heavy sigh, it seemed this was going to take alot longer than he had hoped.

Riona wasn't used to being slighted, and certainly not used to having someone, especially a male be rude and not flirtatious around her. She understood the need for being weary, for keeping people at an arms length. Many times she'd trusted the wrong person and ended up in a position she hadn't liked, hence the reason for seeking the ring. As much as she delighted in games, they weren't fun when you were on the losing end of a deal. For a succubus though she had her odd quirks and odd vulnerabilities, and not being seen as attractive or having her word questioned when it had been given in good faith was one of them. Perhaps going in first hadn't been the smartest idea but it had made her point clear, she appreciated the help but she wasn't about to rely on it. She tensed momentarily when he placed a hand on her shoulder before she relaxed and stepped to the side a bit, conceding to his point. She wasn't stupid, he would be a good guide and she needed his help in order to get the ring. She was sure if Willowbrook and him were such good friends then he had to be a good person, even if he was a prickly Lycan. "I wasn't planning on straying...I like how I am at the moment...very much alive" she quipped out dryly as she stood a few feet away while he sought out the torch.

Riona watched as he took flint out of his pocket and lit the torch that was found against the cave wall, watching the shower of sparks fall to the ground as the torch lit with a small woosh. The firelight was comforting, although she didn't mind the dark she certainly didn't have night vision and if they were going to be looking for bodies, having some light to see by would definitely be a good thing. She had figured he caves would house some of the less intelligent beings of the realm, although lack of intelligence didn't exactly negate the fact that they were far stronger than she was. Nor the fact that they were just two people against possibly many of them, in a territory and domain that they were familiar in and she was not. Hence, having Lucian's help in such a task was definitely welcome.

As they moved through the caves, leaving the natural light behind she moved closer to him. She stopped with him, more than happy to have the torch as they moved deeper into the caves with only the torch light to guide them. The musty damp smell of earth and stone permeated the air, although she hadn't caught anything remotely foul. The first time a bat had fluttered overhead she'd flinched peering upward with narrowed eyes and reaching out to lay a hand on Lucian's arm. Her grip was loose but warm, not frightened but certainly weary of her surroundings as they continued to move further.
"Did they ever say how the thief had died, because if I was seeking treasure I'd head for the heart of the caves with a damn good map and an idea of the exits....although I prefer not to go on wild goose chases in the dark" she stated, her voice soft since she didn't want to attract the attention of any nasty critters that could be in the area. She too searched along the walls, although her eyes also drifted along the floor seeking out any clues that may have been dropped and forgotten.

Post  Lucian 'The Wolf' Harth Fri Mar 18, 2011 4:25 pm

Lucian was growing increasingly more frustrated and thought hard where the thief may of been killed at. Since he had The Ring of Phelim it was unlikely that he was snuck up on or attacked from behind. No, he would have become completely surrounded rather quickly. Just as he was thinking this, he felt a hand on his arm. Riona seemed to have become a bit jumpy, though she didn't seem afraid. He gently placed his hand on hers, before offering her the torch to carry. "Hold onto this for a bit, I'm going to try to pick up a scent."

The Lycan tried hard to focus on the faintest human scent, but given that the person he was searching for was dead and had been there for some time now, it was a difficult task. After several minutes, he succeeded in finding a smell that seemed a bit out of place. He followed the direction it came from, and as he got closer he managed to identify that it did have a human smell to it. The bad news was he also picked up the scent of several trolls near it. "Given the fact that he had the Ring to aide him, and judging from the smells I'm picking up, it would seem our thief was bold enough to attempt to move through a troll's den and was caught. He must have been surrounded rather quickly and killed on the spot. Lucky for us we don't need to make it through the den, just to his body. Prepare yourself, things could get rough quickly. I'd hate to have something happen to you before we have an opportunity to become better acquainted." He looked back at her with a smirk on his face before turning back to the direction of the smell, his mind going over several strategies of how to get the ring before alerting too many trolls.

Riona glanced down when he placed his hand on hers, a smile appearing on her face as she took the torch and nodded her head mutely before murmmuring a soft "thank you" as she followed after him, not about to be left alone in the dark with only a torch as company. She watched him curiously, wondering how it would feel to have such sharp senses, sure she had an increased sense of tactility although it wasn't as nifty as increased smell. Especially when it came to the task of finding a body, probably long dead. She remained quiet so that he could focus her eyes continuing to drift around the cave curiously as she moved forward quietly her tail sweeping along the floor slowly, continuing to seek out any possible clue to the where abouts of their mysterious thief. When he began to move she followed, holding onto the torch and keeping it a little higher since she stood a little less than a head shorter than he did. As they moved through the cave she breathed in deeply her eyes flicking around cautiously as she noticed a change to the smell of the air, no longer quite as clean as it had been even a few yards back.

She listened to him and shook her head at the sheer stupidity that the thief had in order to accomplish such a feat. She was ballsy at times but it certainly wouldn't lead her to trying to go through a troll's den in the hunt for treasure. She'd done her research on the ring, there was certainly other pieces of jewlery that would afford the wearer better ability to take on multiple opponents but she had no interest in such things. Physical strength had never been one of her strong points and she had no inkling to pick a fight, especially with an opponent that was quite large, quite dumb and more likely to kill her and ask questions later. Her lips quirked as she glanced up at him and raised an eyebrow laying a hand lightly on his arm as she glanced up at him.
"It would be a pity if either one of us were to perish...I would like it very much if we could become better acquainted...outside of dark...damp...troll infested caves" she stated as she glanced around, wrinkling her nose a little as she dropped her hand from his arm her fingers dropping casually close to the knife at her belt while her tail twitched brushing against the back of his thighs.

"I'm always prepared for things to get rough...although I don't think this is my particular brand of rough" she admitted dryly, a hint of humour to her tone as she moved forward cautiously. Her own brain was working double time as she tried to think of ways to get to the ring without attracting attention. A lack of light would be best but then they would be stumbling through the dark and that would probably be noisier than just keeping the light. Going alone was certainly not a possibility and she wasn't about to let him proceed on his own, atleast as a pair they could watch each others backs.

A quest for the unknown... Empty Re: A quest for the unknown...

Post  Lucian 'The Wolf' Harth Sun Mar 27, 2011 5:19 pm

Every fiber of Lucian's being told him that he shouldn't press further into the cave. Feelings like these have helped Lucian survive all this time, but this wasn't one of the instances where he needed to heed it's warnings. The cave was bound to be full of goblins and trolls, this much the Lycan knew, and if he needed to he'd be able to fight his way out of the caves. Quickly, his mind flowed over scenarios, one after the other, until finally a brilliant idea had hit him. Trolls and Goblins were tribal in nature, they had one leader that ran the entire show. Without this leader, they become mindless, panicking grunts that are only concerned with their own well being. Yes, without their leader they would become gutless cowards. A huge grin spread across Lucian's face, and with confidence he turned to Riona. "The Ring should be just ahead. Don't worry, this will be a walk in the park."

The Lycan turned a corner and started down a long corridor. He heard Riona's comment about this not being her kind of rough and merely rolled his eyes. Honestly, was sex the only thing her kind cared about? The feeling of her tail brushing against the back of his thighs confirmed this thought, and he turned around, grabbing her tail and giving it a light tug, just enough to pull her off balance. "Listen to me, lust sucker. If you plan on getting out of here in one piece I'd suggest you keep your lust in check. There is a time and a place for all things, demon, so I suggest you save your heated thoughts until we get out of here." He shook her own tail at her, as if using it to point at her face before letting it go and continuing down the corridor. The scent of Goblin stink was emitting heavily from the unlit chamber ahead of them. Among the stench, however, Lucian could tell that the corpse they were looking for was just up ahead. He turned to Riona, and explained his plan to her.

"The key to getting out of here as quickly and quietly as possible is to locate the Goblin chief and take him hostage. With their leader's life in our hands, none of the grunts would dare raise a blade to us. Your normal Goblin is a dim witted, spineless coward that mindlessly obeys the every command of their leader. We'll have to be quiet to keep the element of surprise. Once we enter the chamber, we need to quickly locate the chief. It shouldn't be too hard, beings he'll be the only one amongst them that looks as if he possesses something even of remote value while the rest of his kin will be covered in soiled rags and carrying blades that look as if they'd kill you of rust poisoning over anything else. You are to light the chamber with the torch and quickly help me spot the chief. Once he is located, I'll move close to him and put a blade to his throat, ordering the grunts to stay still. After that, you'll have time to search the chamber for the body of the thief, and grab the ring. After that, all we need to do is exit the chamber, set the chief free, and take our leave. Sounds simple enough, doesn't it?"

Her self-preservation was starting to kick in; telling her that going farther wasn't exactly a smart idea. Like Lucian her gut feelings had helped her survive some pretty harry situations and she typically heeded its warnings. This case was an exception; she had decided to ignore the warning feeling despite the alarm bells going off. The benefits, if she got the ring, would outweigh the risk and it was certainly worth the risks if they located the ring. She hated placing the Lycan in danger although he had agreed and thus far he had been a good guide. He was, however, rather dour company which was really the succubi’s only complaint at the time being. She wasn't overly familiar with trolls and goblins, knowing that they typically lacked intelligence but not really aware of their social structure. She had never really travelled so close to the caves and it wasn't like the trolls and goblins made their way into the city. She raised an eyebrow when he spoke, his sudden boost of confidence providing her with a bit of hope although it was guarded. As light and as carefree as the succubus tried to appear to be she wasn't stupid, she knew the risks of what was involved and tackling a whole cavern of trolls or goblins wasn't exactly what she inspired to do. Regardless when he said it would be a walk in the park she nodded her head and smiled lightly.

It wasn't that sex was the only thing she cared about, she cared about a great number of things, however she was used to using sex as a distraction, as a way to initiate conversation. And although her comments had been sexual in nature she hadn't meant anything by it, although apparently the lycan didn't get her sense of humour. His grip threw her off balance and she stumbled juggling the torch into her other hand as she caught her footing and glared at him her wings flaring out to help with her balance as he held her tail. She hated having her tail pulled; it ranked right up with being considered stupid or incompetent and her dislike for others of her kind. However she remained silent, simply glowering at him before her eyes dipped down to his ribs, particularly the third and fifth where his heart lay. She never would actually kill him, he hadn't done anything really to deserve even being hurt but he certainly made her ire rose. Tugging her tail free she curled it around her waist and stepped forward her shoulders stiff with anger. If he wanted to be a bit of an ass then fine, she'd let him. It wasn't like she'd meant anything by her advances she simply just wasn't used to a man ignoring her; a part of her was intrigued by it. However, she wasn't entertained by the idea of having her tail tugged and she certainly had no problem keeping her lust in check, especially when confronted by such a cold front from the lycan.

She was happy to hear that he actually had a plan, and paused so that she could listen to it. Despite being a little ticked off with him as a person she would follow his plan since admittedly it was a good one. Her eyes sparked with a hint of amusement at his words, just as she thought Goblins were quite dim witted although she certainly didn't know that they were headed by a chief. It made sense though and she nodded her head in agreement to the part of the plan that held her involvement. She would have no problem picking out someone of importance; after all she'd had centuries of practice.
"And what happens once we let him go? They could come after us" she murmured wearily. It was the only part of the plan that she wasn't all that fond of, although she had no intention of keeping the goblin leader, but it would be a good idea to keep the leader for a short while until they had sufficiently gotten far enough through the caves to be considered 'safe'.
